Wedding Wednesday- Kelsey and Lee Coghill

A guest post by: Kelsey Coghill
Kelsey & Lee -August 22, 2009

Lee and I met the very first day of college at MVNU! It was love at first site for him & after a couple of months I decided to give him a chance :)

Fast forward through 3 blissful years and on May 26, 2008 Lee proposed!!
Engagement Video

He surprised me at my hometown Memorial Day parade, my absolute favorite day of the year. He drove all night long from Canada to surprise me! He gave me the most beautiful diamond ring I have ever seen & even had red, white, and blue roses!

The next year and 3 months consisted of lots of engagement fun and our college graduation!!

I found my dress at the 3rd store I went looking. It was part of a trunk show & I found it just in time ! I knew instantly that it was the perfect dress and after my mom swallowed the price, she agreed that it was perfect too :) My dress was a Sophia Tolli, satin, diamond white, with beaded straps and a gorgeous broach closure at the back

I am praying for an occasion where I can wear it again!

I could not find the exact shoes I wanted... I wanted blue, open toed shoes, with a less than 2 inch heel. So I painted a pair of shoes I already owned!! It turned out great & everyone loved them!

My bridesmaid dresses were a HUGE blessing to find. I found exactly what I was looking for, simple, black, & short at JCPennys after Christmas for $39.00!! They were originally $129! I decided to buy the dresses for the girls as their gift for being in the wedding. I opened a JCPenny's card & saved another %15! The shoes were another product of my thriftiness, I found them at the Grandview Outlet for $3!! They were black satin open toed heels with a rhinestone buckle.

I actually ended up with the full bridesmaid outfit for myself! My friend Michelle found out she was pregnant after we had already bought the dresses an my sister Amanda was going to have a 1 month old at the time of the wedding, so neither one knew what size they would be! We bought an extra dress and I ended up keeping the dress that was to be for Michelle-pre pregnancy for myself!!

My bridesmaids were my two sisters -Amanda and Molly, my best friends since 1st grade Kristen and Michelle, and my two best friends from my church growing up Sarah and Caitlin.

I have 9 nieces and a nephew and I couldn't just pick one, so I put all 10 of them in the wedding!! We had a "flower garden" Their dresses were made by my brother's mother in law & Nana to two of the flower beauties :)

Because there were so many children going to be involved in the wedding Lee and I made coloring sheets of our pictures and had crayons on the kids table to keep them occupied during the reception! It was so fun to see the finished pages & I have them all in a scrapbook now!

I made almost every single detail of the wedding myself - the invitations, the programs, the flower arrangements, the pew decorations, the centerpieces - everything! The only thing I had help with was the tying of bows on the bouquets and the boutonnieres & corsages. A friend of my mom's helped with that!

My favorite things about the day were:

1. Walking down the isle and seeing Lee

2. Having Lee sing to me during the ceremony

3. The vintage car we drove away in

4. Being pelted with sprinkles as we left the church!

5. The Candy Buffet at the reception

6. Our favors

6. Dancing!

7. Having all our family and friends spend our special day with us!

College girls-Barn Life! Emily, Katie, Kelsey, Shiloh and Me

Me and the Beautiful Bride, Kelsey

8. Leaving the reception with my husband & going off on our amazing honeymoon!!

Thanks, Kelsey for guest posting! Be sure to check back in next week for Emily's wedding!

Love the candy buffet! I just came across your blog and am now your newest follower. I am also a teacher but I teach high school special education. I cannot imagine doing anything else.
