Life Update

A lot has happened since I last posted in February. I said I wanted to be a better blogger this year but so far, life has taken priority!

For now, I'll do a little recap month by month:

February:
Attended the spring new product launch for Pampered Chef in Atlanta
We booked our summer vacation for June. We are going to Seagrove, FL! SO excited!
One of my best friends had her baby shower in WV! YAY for Kelly and Baby Brylee

March:
Had a wonderful snow day!
Kenzi and Josh (SIL and BIL) sold their house and moved to a rental townhouse.
Had a yummy breakfast on a Saturday morning at First Watch in Cool Springs with Heather, Nicole and Emily!
We had a guy come out and start clearing some of the woods on our land for house plots! They are not taking out my favorite big tree, though!

Hubs celebrated his 29th birthday!
Had a fun spring break at home and then our god parents came to visit for a long weekend!

We found out that our neighbor, Farmer Jimmy, now has horses in his cow pasture behind our land! I will be able to see them out my kitchen window when our house is built!
April:
Went to go see God's Not Dead! It was AWESOME!
My Kindergarten class (and all the other K classes at my school) went on a field trip to the Nashville Zoo. Tons of fun! Me and my teacher friend, Amy!

Went home for the long Easter weekend! Had a great lunch date with my daddy, got to meet Kelly's sweet baby Brylee, went to little cousin, Evelyn's birthday party, and got to go to church with my family on Easter Sunday!

Went roller skating in our school's gym with the kiddos during PE.

May:
Threw a pretty wedding shower for my baby brother, Adam and his bride to be, Ashely. One of my besties came with me to WV for the first time to keep me awake on the car ride and to help with the shower! She's a gem!

I finished my 5th year of teaching, 2nd year in Kindergarten.

Sold our town house.

June: Packed our house.

Adam and Ashley got married.

Went to Seagrove beach, FL on 30A with my parents, Derek's parents and his sister and brother in law.

Moved into our big rental townhouse.
Closed on our old town house.

July:
Celebrated my 27th birthday.
Went on a mini 5 year anniversary vacation to Philadelphia.

Went to the pool, hung out with friends, and enjoyed summer vacation.

August:
Derek's dad had surgery to remove a cancerous mass on his spine. They didn't get it all so chemo and stem cell/bone marrow transplant treatment is a must. Please keep him in your prayers as he undergoes treatment!
Started my 6th year of teaching, 3rd in Kindergarten.
Met Miss Londyn Everleigh Szeliga! A sweet blessing to a great teacher friend!

Spent lots of time getting my classroom together.

Visited with Kelly, Chris and Brylee when they came to Nashville.

Getting back into the routine of school.
Spent lots of time with Derek's dad and family.
Had a little baby sprinkle dinner for my friend Nicole with our friends, Heather and Emily!

September:
Went to Cincinnati for the church league softball tournament. My parents came over and stayed with us. Went to IKEA and Tom and Chee.

Met little handsome little Briggs Isaac Hermon. Jax is a sweet big brother! Nicole and Troy are a blessing!

Met with our builder and architect to go over our plans.

Our friends Amber and Jesse and their girls came into town and we got to see them and spend time with them. (SO sad I didn't take any picture of that weekend!)

Went to the first musical put on by TPAC of the season with friend Heather! Went to Melting Pot for dinner (Cheese/Chocolate) before the show!

*I will try my best to post more often! I want to redesign my blog and need some suggestions/help! Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Day of LOVE

This post is coming a few days late, but better late than never, as I always say!

Valentine's day is always a little crazy when you are a Kindergarten teacher. We have the kiddos bring in decorated boxes and valentine's to pass out to all their friends. We take turns during the morning passing out our valentine's to our friends boxes then in the afternoon we have our party. *Talk about a day full of crazy love* We play games, eat yummy treats and then open our boxes of Valentine's. For a couple years now, I've had the kiddos put all their valentine cards in a little construction paper scrapbook that I had pre-made by a gracious parent volunteer. The parents are very pleased that the valentine cards are taped or glued down and not going to be scattered all over their house.

The kiddos are so sweet though. Spreading the love to their classmates and teacher :) I received lots of cards, treats, and chocolates. (The chocolates didn't help much for my healthy living/weight loss goals but it was nice anyways!)

My hubs texted me earlier that day to tell me we had another house showing scheduled for the next day. Then about a hour later, texted me that we had another showing on Saturday and one in about an hour and a half. This wife did not leave the house that morning in a "show ready" condition. :( But fortunately, I have a wonderful husband who cleaned the whole house, bought me a rose and a sweet card! He took me out to a little Italian restaurant close to our house.

All in all, it was a day filled with crazy love! I hope you enjoyed some crazy love on Valentine's day and every day!

SNOW DAY!!

Happy Snow Day, Y'all! I love living in the south during "snow" days but every once in awhile I would love if it would REALLY snow!

A little bit of freezing rain/snow mix. I'll take it!

My snow day activities have included:
*Working out with Nicole this morning (before we even got to call that school was canceled!)
*Relaxing on the recliner catching up on shows
*Starting to clean up the kitchen
*Working on my Pampered Chef business
*Going through mail and throwing junk away
*Watching another Harry Potter movie with my hubs! (So glad he works from home :)

By the way, several items will be discontinued after February from Pampered Chef. Look below and if you would like to place an order, host a cooking show or an online catalog show, let me know!

Stay warm, my friends!

Accomplishment!

I've had some ups and downs on my journey to healthy living this year so far. From making poor food choices to not feeling like going to the gym, and on the flip side, staying within my calories on my fitness pal app and going to the gym at 5 a.m even if I would rather stay in my nice warm bed. I also have dealt with a slight stomach bug which threw off regular eating and exercising for a few days.

Today was an exceptional day! My friend Heather and I are doing the same devotional and keeping each other accountable. We weighed and measured on Jan 1 and plan to weigh/measure in the first weekend of every month. We couldn't get together last weekend because her niece had decided to make her grand entrance into the world and they traveled up to Ohio for the weekend to get some cuddle time in! We had stayed the night at their house last night so we could weigh in first thing this morning. *Side note* My scale at home went on the fritz about 2 weeks ago. I hadn't been able to weigh myself for 2 weeks and I was frustrated at that. On the contrary, that was actually the best thing to happen. I stepped on the scale this morning and had lost 5.6 pounds since the beginning of the year. I lost some inches in areas of my body so I was very excited about this! I'm very encouraged by this and keep working hard at reaching my goal!

Happy 100th Day of School!

We survived 100 days of Kindergarten on February 5th!

My Kindergarten team of teachers had shirts made that said "I survived 100 days of Kindergarten!"

We hung a huge 100 at the entrance of our hallway and cut out one of the zeros for everyone to walk through!

The kiddos had to wear something of 100. I had a lot of cute, unique ideas that came in on Wednesday! From hot glued play dollar bills/coins, to a "cool school" of felt fish, safety pinned jingle bells in a 100, the Chinese symbol for 100,  to fruit loot and beaded necklaces. We had a great day of reading 100th day books, doing exercises in 100 seconds, graphing, writing what we will do when we are 100 years old and celebrating our place value pocket chart getting to 100!

I also started my own teachers pay teachers store! Check it out! I have a 100th day Movement cards for sale!

Feeling the burn, sweating like crazy!

Today felt like such a success! I ate well within my fitness pal app calories and I worked out like a champ!

Started my day at 5 a.m. at the gym with Nicole. We did 30 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of ab work together. Russian (crazy) twists, regular crunches, and planks. 3 sets of those and then partner medicine ball sit ups.

After school, Christie (my kinder co-worker) and I did Jillian Michaels Shred it dvd kettle bell workout on my promethean board on the big carpet in my classroom. It was great! We are going to try to do this right after school at least 2-3 days a week! So it is nice to get a double dose, not only do I want to shed some pounds, I want to become stronger and toned!

I'm also reading the devotional "Today is the First Day: Daily Encouragement on the Journey to Weight Loss and Balanced Life (First Place)"  It has been a great inspiration every morning. The Lord is on my side. He wants to see me improve and turn to him when I am tempted to be lazy or want to eat lots of bad food.

Goals for 2014

Hey Y'all!

My goals in 13 were:
1. Get down to 135 in weight. Build lean muscle, become stronger and toned. Eat healthier. Drink more water! That was a negative. Unfortunately, I became very discouraged this past year and did not reach this goal. This is the year though because I have to!

2. Go on a date (either out or at home) once a month with my wonderful hubby!
We did go on more dates but probably not once a month. I do feel like hubby and I spent more time being together this year. We had some great dates: trips to home depot/lowes/Ferguson's/home expo center to look for home ideas for our new house we are going to build this year, dinner or lunch out (puckett's, picnics to arrington, pizza dinners on the land), saw a couple movies, and just had a good time.

3. Get at least one recruiter under me in Pampered Chef.
YES :) I know she can do great things with the Pampered Chef!

4. Have a substantial amount of money saved up to build our house.
We are getting there! We are excited about starting to build this year!

5. Do at least 4 shows a month with Pampered Chef (can be a combo of cooking/catalog shows) That didn't happen regularly but will be a regular month this year. I will make sure of it!

6. Sell $24,000 in PC products this year.
Not even close but I did make it to $15,000 in personal sales since starting April 2012!!

8. Go on a caribbean cruise with my family and in laws this summer on the Royal Caribbean's Allure/Oasis of the Seas.
YES! Well, my family didn't get to come but my in-laws, SIL, BIL and our friends TJ and Heather went on a Western Caribbean Cruise on the Oasis of the Seas in May/June 2013.

9.  Read through the New Testament.
I will finish it this year. Great start and valiant effort!

10. Pray/devotions daily with myself and with hubby.
We did really well with having devotions together most nights and I did have a good start to quiet time. I am starting a new devotional this year and am loving it! I also got back into journaling and I've kept up with it so far!

11. Take more pictures for my blog, family, and for my photo business. *BLOG MORE OFTEN!* So sorry friends! I'm regretting it myself as well!

12. Deep clean, organize, and touch up paint in my house to get ready for a possible sale sometime this year!CHECK. Whew, we did it all. We deep cleaned, ugh! We touched up paint, got a storage unit, cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more. We are still cleaning and keeping our house up almost every day incase of an unexpected showing.

13. Try to stay positive in every situation.
That is a prayer I say every day!

4 goals in 2014:

1. BE HEALTHY-in weight, be comfortable in my own skin, when I see myself in pictures I'm not embarrassed, in what food I choose to eat, etc. I know it is not all about what the scale says but I need to become healthier! Hubby is on this journey with me as well.
*My plan: Drink the preferred amount of water a day, use myfitnesspal app to track what I am eating each day, do a monthly weigh/measure to be in accountability with Friend Heather, exercise for 45 minutes for 4-5 days a week, and continue to do my Today's the first day: a journey to weight loss and balance devotional and journaling.

2. Sell our townhouse and move into our dream home on the land!
*My plan: keeping our house clean and ready to show is always a task but I am going to try to keep it nice and neat everyday. Keep calm as we make decisions and not to second guess myself when picking out options of house stuff. Be very organized when packing up to move to the new house.

3. Have a profitable business with The Pampered Chef, grow my team and business.
*My plan: have 4 cooking shows a month selling $1,000 or more a month, recruit 2 or more people to join my Pampered Chef team, express to everyone how this business can change your life and prove it to everyone.

4. Become closer than ever with my heavenly father and my husband.
My plan: have daily devotions/prayers/journaling every day, be still and listen to what the Lord is trying to tell me, have prayer time and devotions with my husband, go on more dates, be the best wife I can be.

Here's to reaching my goals in 2014!
