Attending- I'd say we had about 200-250 or so attend our wedding.
Bridesmaids- I had 7 bridesmaids. My matron of honor was my childhood best friend, Brittany. My SIL, Kenzi, my two childhood friends, Katie and Kelly, my long time childhood church friend, Emily, and my college roommates, Stacy and Katie.
Catering: We had Chef Z Catering Unlimited from Charleston. He was great! We had chicken salad croissants, a cheese ring, and Thai meatballs. We also had fruit and veggies.
For our Cake, a lady by the name of Liza Hoffman did our cake for an amazing price! It was beautiful and just like the picture I showed her!
Dress: My dress was a Jasmine collection dress which I found in a magazine and had it ordered from a little boutique in Ohio. They didn't even make me pay for the dress before they ordered it for me!
Engagement: We got engaged on April 12, 2008. Derek had come up to MVNU (our college) for the weekend (he had already been living in Nashville and it was the spring of my Junior year). I thought he had come up for the golf tournament (he played for the college's golf team for a 4 years he was there and was captain). He picked me up Saturday around 11 and said to dress warm because it was chilly outside. He took me through the drive through of KFC, he ordered exactly what we order and then we drove. He wouldn't tell me where we were going but I had a suspicion. We were driving to the place where he took my on our first date. The Velvet Ice cream factory. The factory wasn't open for the season but the picnic grounds were and that's what we did on our first date, had a picnic. We went to the shelter and ate fast because it was so cold. He got out the soft shell cooler and pulled out brownies and fruit like we had on our first date. I was sitting on his knee and we were talking. He started moving so I got up and he reached inside the pocket and pulled out a box. He got down on one knee and said that He couldn't imagine life without me and that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me and if I would be his wife. Will you marry me?. I was smiling so much and giggling and said yes and we kissed and kissed and called his parents and our parents and it was perfect!
Flowers: My momma made all of our flowers! They were perfect and in my bouquet, she put the dark pink rose buds that were from her bouquet.
Groomsmen: Derek had his college roommate, Greg as his best man, his brother in law Josh, my two brothers Jacob and Adam and three more college buddies, Chad, Jeremy and Jared for his groomsmen.
Honeymoon: We had the best honeymoon after we got there. Our trip there was a disaster. What a way to spend our first day as husband and wife. It's way too long of a story to write out again, so go here to check it out if you would like! We went on a royal Caribbean Cruise from San Juan to Aruba, Curacao, Dominica, and St. Thomas.
Invitations: We had really cool invitations. They were the kind you make yourself but it was a white cardstock with a swirly border. Your engagement picture went in the corner slots and then the words were printed on velum to put over top of the picture like a flap. There was a bow at the top for accent! I loved them. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of them. This is the picture we used for the invitation.
Justice of the Peace: We got married in the church I grew up in and had my pastor marry us.
Keepsakes: We had our favors wrapped up in tulle. The were "Kisses from the Clarks" with our new address on the tag. We had 2 pink hershey kisses and a mini Clark bar inside each pouch. We also had our guest book have engagement pictures in it so we could keep it. I also love our big black and white engagement picture with the matte where guests signed and wrote little notes to us.
Ladies Night: Unfortunately we didn't have a "ladies night" but we had a really fun shower thrown by my matron of honor, bridesmaids and my college roommates! It was a blast!
Music: We had my uncles and cousin play the piano and sing. They sang "When God Made You" and we had our music pastor, Kyle, sing and play "When I say I do" by Matthew West. We walked back down the aisle to "Walking on Sunshine." Our first dance was a Dave Barnes song but it was played and sung by our friend Dusty, "I have and I always will" My dad and I danced to Tim McGraw's "My little Girl" and Derek and his mom danced to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts.
Newlyweds:
Old, New, Borrowed, Blue: Something old was my mom's flowers from her bouquet and my mother in law's handkerchief. My something new was my dress. My something borrowed was my friend Kelly's slip that I wore under my dress to make it a little more poofy. My something blue was my Cleveland Indians garter.
Photography: Donna Edmondson took all of our photographs. She was amazing! Check out her website.
Question Popping: It was perfect! He was so sweet and romantic when he asked me to marry him. He actually drove all the way up to my parents house (6 hours away from Nashville) to ask their blessing 2 weeks before popping the question.
Reception: Our reception was at WV State University's ballroom. It was absolutely wonderful and very affordable! Our reception was really fun but I'm sad that I didn't get to visit with as many people that I wanted to be able to. We decorated it all the day before the wedding.
This was right outside our reception.
Shoes: My shoes were from David's Bridal and I loved them!
Trash the Dress: NO WAY! It's still hanging in my closet at my parents house.
Unique: It's not really unique but we saw each other before the wedding. He was standing up in the front of the church and I walked down to him. I had the BIGGEST smile on my face. I wrote him a letter and had a little trinket box that had the words "My heart belongs to you forever" on the front, I had our wedding date engraved on the inside and my promise ring was in the box. I read him the letter and teared up a bit. We prayed together and then took most of our pictures. I wouldn't have traded that time together for the world!
Vows: We recited traditional vows.
Weather: The weather was perfect. It only stared raining a bit after the reception when we were on our way to the hotel.
X Rated: No way. Who ever made this up should've just left out the X. Would someone really put something on this one?
Young kids: We had two ring bearers and two flower girls. We had my sweet neighbor boys Kody and Mason as our ring bearers and Aleyna (a little girl I babysat for) and Samira (my cousin) as our flower girls. All of them were adorable!
ZZZZ: We were exhausted and it took FOREVER to get all the bobby pins out of my hair and the tiara was tangled pretty bad. We had to get up early for our flight out.
