Wedding Wednesday-My Wedding

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing the details and memories from the weddings of me and my 3 roommates! I like to do things in chronological order, so it will be mine, Kelsey's, Emily's, and Katie's. I was so sad I wasn't able to be at Emily's but I will be using pictures that others had taken.

Derek and I were engaged on April 12, 2008 and were married on July 11th, 2009. A lot of planning took place in that little over a year time period.

I made our save the dates on picnik.com. I only handed them out to family and friends at get-togethers because I didn't want to have to spend extra money on mailing. I also emailed it to other friends and family.

The dress!
I searched through magazines upon magazines, tried on several dresses at other boutiques but I only had eyes for the Jasmine Collection dress that was spaghetti strapped, fitted bodice, a-line bottom and beautiful embroidery and beading. I called many boutiques that had that brand to see if they could order it without me paying for it first. Boutique 21 in Newark, OH let me order it without paying for it before hand. My mom came up to Ohio (where I went to school) and we went to try it on. It was perfect!
Front detail, the day I got to try it on for the first time!

Really wrinkly, first time to try it on, needs hemmed and straps fixed, but it's perfect!

I loved the pulled up back and the beautiful designs on the train! That's the veil I got too, scalloped edges with beading.

Bridesmaids-Stacy Newburg, college roommate/friend, Katie Puterbaugh-childhood friend, Katie Vartorella(then)Henry(now)-college roommate/friend, Kelly Shearer-childhood friend, Emily Bryan-childhood church friend, Mackenzie Howard-Derek's sister (future sis-in-law), and Brittany Good Matron of Honor-childhood friend. Their dresses were from David's Bridal-strapless latte color with a pink sash around the waist. They got to pick out their own shoes but have them died the latte color. My mom and I made their earrings and necklaces. We also made them flip flops for the reception. They were brown with pink ribbon intertwined around the tops. I also got them the friendship willow tree figurine and made them each a small scrapbook.

Kody, one of our ring bearers, cut his finger on the boutonniere pin and left the stage crying :(

So his older brother, Mason, picked up both ring pillows, which had our actual rings on them.

My mom is so creative and crafty! She made all of our flower arrangements, my bouquet, my bridesmaids bouquets, the boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, and flowers for the cake.

Our cake was made by Liza Hoffman out of Milton, WV. She took the picture that I gave her and created the most beautiful cake ever! It was amazing and my aunt gave us the willow tree cake topper and my mom jazzed it up!

Our guest book attendants were Sara Bailey-I use to babysit for her and her sister when they were little and we grew up in church together and Shelby Bolyard- my god-sister.They wanted to get matching dresses, so we found some really cute pink knee length dresses from Amazon. We also had two program passers. Kayla Bailey-Sara's sister and Kali Ghareeb- Samira's sister/my cousin.

Our photographs was Donna Edmondson. She was great! We had so many great poses and fun moments. Derek and I decided to see each other before our ceremony. I walked down the isle to him with no one else in the sanctuary (except for our photographers), I wrote him a letter and gave him a heart shaped silver box from Things remembered with my promise ring inside. We prayed together and then took most of our pictures together before the wedding! I wouldn't have changed that for the world. The time we had together before the ceremony made us so much more relaxed and be able to really focus on the ceremony instead of being so caught up in seeing each other for the first time. Here are some pictures from the wedding and reception.

Wonderful, Relaxing Weekend!

This weekend was great, being that it was an unexpected 3 day weekend because of the snow on Friday! I cleaned up the house a little, played kinect your shape fitness evolved, and watched a lot of Netflix! Speaking of Netflix, I recently have been obsessed, watching The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Although it is so silly and immature, I can't help but let it entertain me! Unfortunately, Hubby hates these kinds of shows but gets sucked in when I watch them and ends up wanting to know what happens, so he watches with me! We also watched Knight and Day Friday night. It was a funny movie. Anyways....
Saturday-lounged around all morning with Hubby, watched more Secret Life err I mean Netflix, got lunch at a newer place right around the corner from our neighborhood called Paprika Express (random kinds of foods) and had gyros. Then we went up to Franklin/Cool Springs for items for a project we are working on!
Sunday(Today)- Church-I'm loving the series our pastor is preaching! It's called 26.2...Next Steps. Today's sermon was on Meditation, Prayer and Fasting. We went out to Brunch/Lunch with our friends, Steve and Emily to a new place to me and Derek, Fido. It was a great coffee shop/breakfast/soup/sandwich place. It's located in Hillsboro Village close to the Pancake Pantry. It was a little on the pricey side but really yummy. I had a scrambled egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on a honey wheat bagel and a vanilla latte. Derek had the scrambled egg, bacon, hash brown casserole and toast. We went home and I went to a friend's Jewelry Party. Now, I'm just kicking back and relaxing before the work week. Back to the land of 6 and 7 year olds! P.S. I really lacked on the mileage/runs/exercising this weekend...oops!

I'm going to start some new series on my blog. I'm going to have a Wedding Wednesday for the next 4 Wednesdays showcasing me and my three roommates weddings in the summer/fall of 2009. I'm also going to showcase my recipe challenge, but instead of making a new recipe everyday, I'm going to make 4 new recipes a week. I feel like that is much more realistic and attainable. I'm going to have a Four New Recipe Friday.

Coming soon: Teach.Run.Love's Amazon shop-just a few of my favorite things!

Recipe Challenge

I was talking to my friend, Heather, yesterday about wanting to really learn how to cook and not just cook the same ol same ol things. The only problem with this is my husband is a picky eater. My friend suggested that I take my cookbooks and pick out a recipe to make everyday for a year. This definitely helps because I have many cookbooks and I don't have to make an entree everyday. I can make and try anything! So every Monday, I'm going to make it be Recipe Monday. I will share the new recipes that I have tried the previous week and review them. I'm going to start this challenge on Thursday January 20th, 2011. For now, I will leave you with a couple recipe titles that I'm going to try soon!

Chicken Gyros
Easy Pleasing Meatloaf
Fuss free Ravioli and Cheese Bake
Pampered Chef Mini Ham Puffs
"   "    Hawaiian Dip with Fruit Kebabs
"    " Apple Berry Salad
Baked Tortilla Chips
Peachy Cheese Coffee Cake
Cinnamon Crunch Cobblestone Muffins
Spinach & Artichoke Braid

I have flagged many more but I will share when the time comes!

Top 10 things to do on Snow Days!

This week we had 4 consecutive snow days. Our county is so big and the rural parts have many areas where the ice couldn't melt. We don't have much equipment to take care of such things. The following is my top ten things I did during the week of being a housewive and free to do what I want!!
10. Clean the Kitchen, do laundry, and clean the extra bedrooms.
9. Stay in my PJ's and watch netflix.
8. Update this blog and spend way to much time on facebook and on my computer in general.
7. Made some great meals for lunch and dinner.
6. Slept in!
5. Played Kinect Dance Central, Your Shape Fitness Evolved and did my training runs.
4. Drank lots of hot chocolate!
3. Realized I don't have to do lesson plans for next week :)
2. Went shopping at Cool Springs with Lindsey and Addy (got some great deals!) and went over to Amy's for sledding, hot cocoa and attempting to build a snowman with her and Jackson! (snow wasn't wet enough)
1. Getting to eat lunch with my hubby everyday!

Tomorrow we have school on regular schedule, which  means 2nd nine weeks awards ceremony in the morning and fun MLK day lessons! Have a fabulous Friday!

P.S. I did, in fact, change my url! I was talking to my computer savy, techie hubby and he said my other url was too lengthy, so I changed it to my new blog title: teachrunlove.blogspot.com, so if you want to, you can change it on your blog roll!

Changing it up a bit!

Over the past month or so, I've felt that I don't take enough pictures to truly make this be an only picture blog. Although my url (tiffany-lifeinpictures.blogspot.com) will stay the same, I wanted a new title and a new look to bring in a new year. I want to write more about life in general, share teaching ideas, and still add in pictures here and there. My dear friend, Kelsey, helped me come up with a cute title to my blog: Teach.Run.Love. It is absolutely perfect for what I want to blog about and it is a more general name.

I still need some time to fancy it up a little more. I'd like to find some cute fancy fonts for the header, blog titles, and side bar but I've tried and it doesn't seem to work :( if any of you readers can help, I am all ears!

Good night and Sweet Dreams! I'm off to sleep in for another snow day! (4th in a row!)
