Prayer and Praise

Hey Y'all! I know in the last couple days, I've requested prayer for my father-in-law but didn't give much detail.

About 2 weeks ago, we found out that his lymphoma cancer has returned. It would've been 3 years this year since the last time. The last time, he only had to go through radiation. After having a full body CT scan, they found the cancer in his throat (just like the last time) and they found more cancer in his chest lymph nodes. 2 Satrudays ago, one of the lumps in his throat grew to the size of a baseball over night. He received his first chemo treatment last Wednesday. The medicine he's been taking has been shrinking the tumors and we are so grateful for that. We also got some good news today. We found out that the cancer has not spread to his bone marrow so his cancer is considered stage 2 not stage 4. PRAISE THE LORD! We are still waiting for the definite type of cancer that he has to come back in the biopsy. Please keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers. He will have his 2nd chemo treatment earlier that what we thought, but we think that it will be for the best because it is helping shrink the tumors. I know this will be a long road ahead and it will definitely be hard on my hubby and his sister since we live 8 hours away from his parents.

I'm so blessed to have a great support group in the blogging world! Thank you!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

I know I know, the title of this post is silly but that was the first thing I thought of when starting this post!

I documented this in photographs so here we go!

I printed out all your wonderful comments, cut them, put them in a basket at school and had one of my little sweeties drew the winner! Congrats Aubrey Laine! I'll email you with details and what I'll need from you!  I can't wait to incorporate all your ideas with new words for my shop! I plan on working on those soon so keep your eyes peeled! Pepperoni and Cheese Calzone Recipe

I  found this recipe over at Leah's recipe blog!

Pepperoni and Cheese Calzone

Ingredients:
1 can of crescent rolls
pepperoni
shredded mozzarella cheese
parmesan cheese
1 T. italian seasoning
pinch of garlic salt
olive oil (1 T)
A little bit of pasta sauce

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to time directed on rolls can. Roll out 4 separate rectangles (2 triangular squares together).
2.  Spread a little bit of pasta sauce on the bottom of the crescent roll.
3. Place pepperoni on top of the dough. Place cheese on top of the pepperoni (in the center).\
4. Roll dough & pinch dough to seal the ends. Brush with olive oil & seasonings.
5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until dough is brown.

It was really easy and yummy! I fail on the pictures. So sorry!

*I'm loving that my best teacher friend is pregnant! It is so exciting because she has a 5 year old little boy and is finally giving him a little brother or sister! I can't wait until late march when she finds out what she is having! 

 

*I'm loving that I'm getting back into running and exercising! When I look in the mirror or look at recent pictures taken of me, I don't even know who I see. I have to take control and get in shape/lose some weight.

*I'm loving Spotify! I love using the premium trial on my phone and not having ads when I play the classical music at school for my kids. I'm just going to have to break down and pay for it every month.

I'm pinning all about maternity photo shoot poses. A friend of ours is having another baby in April. I sometimes baby sit for their sweet little 2 1/2 year old boy. We'll call him H. He is precious and such a good, smart kid. I told her I have a really nice camera and if she would want some maternity pictures of her and H, I would be glad to take some for her. I've been pinning lots lately and even got texts from a friend and my little brother asking if I was suppose to be telling them something...NO, Y'all, I'm not having a baby. Although, some days I think I'm ready and others it scares me silly. I keep thinking about when we have a baby, it will no longer just be me and Derek. Life will change completely and it won't be a bad change but I change I'm not ready for. I have plenty of time! Without further ado:

President's Day

While some of y'all had yesterday off, whether you are a teacher or your company let you celebrate president's day, me and my teacher friends had a in service day. We were talking about how we are going to be transitioning to the Common Core State Standards in the next 2 years. It was enlightening but my favorite part was getting to go out to eat a Puckett's in Franklin with my teacher friends! Their BBQ is so good as well as their sweet potato fries!

We got to leave at 3:00 since were had to be there at 7:30 that morning. I went the grocery store, got home, went out for a run! It was SO nice outside and I was excited to run outside instead of on the dreadmill...I ran 3 miles with a .4 cool down. My first mile was around 13:30 pace, my foot started hurting so I took a walk break for most of the 2nd mile. It was around a 15:00 pace. I picked it back up on mile 3 and came out with a 12:55 pace! So excited about that. It's suppose to be nice again today, so I hope to run outside. We'll see. My garmin is frozen :( so I am going to let the battery drain and see if that works. It worked great on my run yesterday...

13. (my extra goal) Have one date night a month with hubby. January's date was last minute because I made these goals at the end of the month. On a Sunday afternoon, after church, we ate a Chipotle on West End Ave and then went over to Centennial Park to take some architecture letter pictures for my business!

Happy ValenBirthday!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my wonderful readers! I hope you had a day filled with love! Hubby and I just enjoyed a yummy dinner of Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and home made sauce, garlic bread and chocolate covered strawberries made by yours truly! We are now sitting on the couch watching What Happens in Vegas with The Proposal next in line :)The kiddos were extra hyped up today for their valentine's party. We had fun though!


But most importantly, today is my baby brothers 19th birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Adam! I love you lots and lots! I am so glad I prayed you down from heaven and I'm so glad we are so close! I'm so proud of the young man you are growing up to be!

Teacher Valentine's

Hi Y'all! If you are a teacher or just want a cute, cheap way to show your love tomorrow, I have the cute solution for you!
Materials: Card stock, pencil, heart sticker or cut out, glue stick/glue dots, and a red or pink pen.

First you need to trace your hand and cut it out. Next, you can glue on the heart sticker or cut out on the palm of your cut out hand. Then, you need to use the pencil to roll down your middle and ring finger. Use some glue dots to secure the two curled down fingers. Write the date and your name around the heart cut out and then attach an un-sharpened pencil to the back.
